We’re all in support of making a difference

At the centre of everything we do is a promise to treat others how we’d like to be treated ourselves and do the right things to keep making a positive difference.

A huge part of this is our support of national and local charities. Over the years, we’ve donated hundreds of thousands of pounds to those who need it most – as well as contributing our time and expertise wherever we’ve been able. And we’re always looking for the next opportunity to lend a hand.

Take a look below at who we’re behind and what we do to help.

BBC Children in Need

As a family business, we have a special place in our hearts for the work of Children in Need and the incredible difference it makes to the UK’s young generations.

To show our ongoing support for this fantastic charity, we’ve lovingly designed our own exclusive Pudsey-themed collection to help raise funds. From an alarm clock to a money box and trinket box, to pin badges, Pudsey ears and teddy bears, 35% of every sale is donated by us to the BBC charity.

And with staff fundraising, in-store competitions and till donations all contributing to the cause, we’ve raised over £35,000 and counting so far!

British Heart Foundation

During a partnership of three years, we made the month of February not only the month of love, but a month of fundraising to help keep hearts beating.

Our fantastic range has over a thousand heart-themed products in it. And every time one was purchased, we donated 5% of the sale to the Foundation.

Our staff wore red throughout the month to raise awareness, as well as raising their own funds to help the cause. While our equally big-hearted customers made donations too – all of which helped us to raise over £50,000 for this wonderful charity.

CARRIER BAG LEVY
Like all UK retailers, we’ve been required to charge 5p for a carrier bag since 2015. And we’ve been putting every single penny of this back into the towns we serve – supporting smaller, less-well-funded projects that allow for the greatest impacts on our communities.
CANCER RESEARCH UK
Since 2006, we’ve raised over £92,000 for this pioneering charity. Through the sale of affiliated pin badges, customer donations and a whole host of fundraising activities, we’re incredibly proud to say we’ve played a small part in making a huge difference.
UKRAINE APPEAL
We’re thrilled to have helped some of those displaced by the conflict with a donation of over £9,000 to the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC). 50% of this came from generous customer donations – which we were only too happy to match.

Prostate Cancer in conjunction with Rotary

To raise awareness of the startling fact that one in four black men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime, the renowned watchmaker, Rotary, designed the exclusive, limited-edition 1IN4 watch.

To support this most worthy of causes, every time one was sold by F.Hinds, we donated 10% plus VAT to the charity – equating to just over £4,800.

Save the Children – Christmas Jumper Day

Every festive season, for some charitable cheer and a reminder of family values, we support this amazing charity by spending a day loud and proud in our Christmas jumpers.

From our F.Hinds warehouse team to our shop assistants and managers, right up to our Hinds family of Directors, we all get involved to raise some money for the children of the world – at a time of year that really is all about them.

Local charities

With 118 stores across the UK, we’re part of an awful lot of communities. And we’re proud to play our part in backing them all.

Since the beginning of 2002, we’ve donated over £36,000 to various local charities, including Vilomah baby loss charity, Rotherham Hospice, Sheffield Children’s Hospital, Banbury Youth Rugby, Hinckley Borough Football Club (Children), Whittingham Kennels, Friskney All Saints School NHS Gloucester and Devon & Somerset Air Ambulance – to name a few.

And because there’s no place like home, we’re making it our business to keep making a difference to the communities we’re at the heart of.
